 Movie Research: Five Nights at Freddy's


What conventions of the genre that you chose to base your final task on does this movie have?

- Plot twists -> To keep the audience from getting bored, it's important to have plot twists to keep them on the edge of their seat. In this movie, a major plot twist was how unexpectedly nice the animatronics were towards Abby despite being made out to be scary.

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that you like?

- Costumes -> Again, the costumes were definitely a deal breaker for me. I think that the fact that they got real animatronics for this movie makes it so much more cooler. Of course, as much as I'd love to use costumes like these, I don't have the funds for such.

What conventions of the genre did the movie have that did not appeal to you?

- Violence -> Despite expecting this movie to have SOME gore and violence in it, I didn't think it was going to be that bad. However, there was a lot of blood used in this movie and I feel like it was just too much and a bit excessive. The overall usage of blood is great, but in moderation.

My Group for the Music Video

   Hi guys!!! I'm back with another post in relation to my music video!!  Everyone in my class is working on their music video in a group, but I'm working alone. To be honest, I had a doctors appointment the day we chose groups and the people I wanted to work with ended up getting into a group LOL. However, I'm not upset at the idea of working alone. Working in a group can get quite complicated sometimes- especially when it comes to conflicting schedules. This being said, despite the workload being a bit bigger, I'm quite satisfied with working alone. I feel that by working alone, I'll be able to really make it my own. I don't necessarily have an issue with working in a group, but they both have their respective pros and cons. Besides, working alone doesn't mean that I can't ask my super awesome friends to help me with certain things!   For the song I'll be using, I chose to use Good Days by SZA. 1. What titles are displayed during the opening sequences?  The opening sequences of "Split" directed by M. Night Shyamalan, begins with multiple tiny black boxes that repeat all over the screen and in each of them show the credits and titles such as "Universal Pictures Presents", "In association with Blumhouse Productions", along with a few others in which they do the same to the Director of the movie and the title of the movie "Split" 2. What images are prioritized in the opening sequence?  The biggest thing that is shown in the opening sequence is right off the bat, you see a guy instantly from the perspective of the girl in which he reaches over and grabs you. Already putting tension on the audience right off the bat they follow up with the opening sequence where all we see are the titles.
